Situated in the heart of Downtown Grand Forks, the legendary Widman's Candy Shop is a locally owned and operated business that began back in 1949. Beloved patriarch George sadly passed away several years ago; however, the Widman Family continues his tradition of making amazing homemade confections.

Their #1 claim to candy fame are Chippers: Red River Valley rippled potato chips hand-dipped in milk or dark chocolate. These slightly salty and perfectly sweet treats have been shipped all over the world and were once even featured on “The Tonight Show”. But that’s not all! Widman’s also covers an array of other delicacies in their creamylicious chocolate including toffee, marshmallows, blueberries, pecans and caramel. If you're feeling adventurous, be sure to give the chocolate covered bacon, jalapenos, green olives or pickles a try!

Locals and visitors alike pour into this store year-round but of course, leading up to the Holidays and Valentine’s Day are their busiest times. Everyone around these parts also looks forward to fall, both for the beautiful foliage and…Widman’s Caramel Apple Time!

Widman’s Candy Shop is located at 106 South 3rd Street. Hours are 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday and 9:30 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. While they do not have a website, you may place a phone order by calling 701-775-3480 and visit them on Facebook.
