With tickets starting at just $10 for adults and $5 for kids, it’s a great night out for the whole family. Feel free to come hungry, as The Betty offers an assortment of tasty treats to eat.

The University of North Dakota Bookstore is a great spot to nab some super cool Fighting Hawks logo wear! They offer everything from sports jerseys and sweatshirts to hats and hoodies. Located right next to both the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center and Ralph Engelstad Arena, make it your first stop before tipoff or puck drop.

UPSCALE DINING DOWNTOWN

Appealing ambiance and fine bovine intertwine at Harry's Steakhouse. Voted one of Open Table's most romantic restaurants in the nation, this Downtown Forks mainstay is already legendary for its stellar service, delectable dishes and creative cocktails. In addition to a prime selection of five-star steak options, top-grade chefs here also prepare an array of succulent seafood, superb side dishes, amazing appetizers, decadent desserts and cool cocktails. Harry’s also whips up the best Lobster Dip this side of Maine. My entrees of choice are the Bison Tenderloin with Chimichurri, Tomahawk Pork Chop, Beef Stroganoff and Crispy Walleye. Must-order sides include the Creamed Corn Pancetta, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Balsamic Brussels Sprouts and famous Harry’s Style Hash Browns topped with applewood smoked bacon, bleu cheese crumbles and caramelized onions.

UNIQUELY GRAND

If you like discovering those one-of-a-kind finds, Downtown Forks is your jam. The Silo Boutique, RH Standard and Pretty b feature fabulous fashions from an array of designers that are also pocketbook friendly. For more than two decades, master metalsmith David Badman has been creating all sorts of beautiful things – jewelry, liturgical art, home décor and more – from his in-store workshop. Those with a sweet tooth will surely love Widman’s Candy. This family owned and operated store has been in business since the 1940s. Chippers, chocolate dipped potato chips, are their claim to candy fame but other decadently delicious chocolate covered treats include toffee, marshmallows, caramel, cranberries…even bacon, pickles and jalapenos, oh my!

Trying to plan a great date for you and your mate? Here's a forkin' grand idea that really hits the mark! Axe-throwing at Downtown Axe is an awesome way to work on those biceps and have some competitive fun. One hour is just $25 but make sure to book ahead at DowntownAxeGF.com. End the evening deliciously by heading north on 3rd Street, for amazing ales and eats, at nearby Brick & Barley. While there, perhaps partake in a game of pool, blackjack or bingo, as well.
