SimplyGrand sweet treats
For those who just love a sugar rush, SimplyGrand Forks has an abundance of palate-pleasing ways to help you get your fix!
Throughout our two towns, there are numerous eateries dishing up delicious desserts and while hard to narrow it down, here are my five sweetest spots.
The Toasted Frog
With its casual metropolitan atmosphere, extensive martini and wine lists, diverse food and professional staff, The Toasted Frog is a popular Downtown destination for locals and visitors alike. Of course, everyone knows about their award-winning fried cheesy pickles but when it comes to decadent desserts, The Frog’s top-tier chefs offer some of the best you’ll find anywhere. From spiced pear pie crowned with creamy cinnamon ice cream to luscious lemon cake accompanied by housemade raspberry infused chèvre, it’s a perfectly sweet way to end a perfect meal.

Bully Brew Coffee Company
This Grand Forks original is the only coffee shop in town that roasts its own beans. Cowboy and Mocha Java are my two favorite blends and both pair deliciously with their ooey-gooey caramel rolls, fresh baked jumbo chocolate chip cookies and mouthwatering pecan coffee cake.
Locations: 2100 South Columbia Road, Grand Forks; 2900 14th Avenue South, Grand Forks; 321 DeMers Avenue, East Grand Forks
The Blue Moose Bar & Grill
Surrounded by knotty pine and neon, Blue Moose has a cozy, eclectic Up North cabin feel. Chefs here are best known for producing superb savory dishes but I assure you the desserts are equally amazing. While I highly recommend trying the seasonal carrot cake with Bailey’s Irish cream frosting before spring rolls around, my usual go-to is their famous Moose Mud Pie featuring four layers of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, coffee and toffee) piled high into an Oreo crumb crust with whipped cream, hot fudge and caramel.
Location: 507 2nd Street NW, East Grand Forks
Tea & Crepe Café
No teasing, the fresh made stuffed crepes, smoothies, yogurt, Thai stir-fried ice cream and bubble tea at Tea & Crepe Café are all out of this world! However, if I had to choose just a few favorites, they would be the passion fruit milk tea, mango tango ice cream roll and a banana chocolate crepe so yummy, you’ll go “Nutella” over it!
Location: 307 DeMers Avenue, Grand Forks
Ground Round Grill & Bar
A plateful of golden-brown deep-fried Oreos, drizzled with hot fudge and caramel, accompanied by a scoop of New York vanilla ice cream. Enough said.
Location: 2800 32nd Avenue South, Grand Forks
